RNO is an organization dedicated to recognizing, promoting, and maintaining the unique specialty of rural nursing practice. We represent all types of rural health care providers from individual rural nurses to healthcare agencies, academia, and government programs.

The Online Journal of Rural Nursing and Healthcare is your link to current trends and practices in rural healthcare. You may link directly to the author of the article, go directly to cited references, and exchange views with other rural nurses who have responded to the article.

RNO.org features a members only section with ways to contact other rural nurses. It also provides valuable links to other resources that can be utilized by the rural nurse. We also offer a quarterly newsletter that provides organization information, articles on rural nurses at work, current research, current practice, and much more.

Leadership Opportunities

Committee membership offers an opportunity to help shape the direction of the organization and the future of rural nursing. The RNO Board of Directors represents rural nurses across the nation. Quarterly meetings are held to conduct the business of the organization.
