International Conference for Rural and Remote Nurses and Midwives
With the International Conference for Rural and Remote Nurses and Midwives fast approaching, I thought it would be helpful to introduce myself to you, for any queries you have in the lead-up to what will be an exciting and unique event.
We are now accepting abstract submissions for consideration and registrations to attend the conference. We would appreciate if you can please distribute the attached flyer to your networks.
Presenters who have their abstract submission accepted are eligible to apply for sponsorship for their conference attendance.
The challenges and triumphs of providing essential healthcare to people who live, work, travel or play in rural, remote and isolated areas, are similar the world over. CRANAplus has built resources and driven reform in the Australian remote health sector for more than 35 years. It is time for us to share our stories and learn from others across the globe and this conference provides us with a wonderful opportunity to do so.
The 2018 CRANA conference will coincide with the International Rural & Remote Nurses and Midwives Conference in the beautiful Far North Queensland city of Cairns. Our 2018 destination is the gateway to the wet tropics, Great Barrier Reef and remote Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities of Queensland.
Nurses and Midwives are consistently the most abundant and evenly distributed healthcare providers, working collaboratively with others, to get healthcare to challenging parts of the planet.
Colleagues from Asia, Pacific, Africa, Europe and Americas; join us to share your stories and listen to our internationally-renowned speakers:
- Aslaug Arnoldsdottir - International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)
- The Hon. Michael Kirby AC CMG
- Barbara Shellian - President of the Canadian Nurses Association
- Michael Jenkins - Senior Professional Nurse for the United Nations Medical Services Division
- Paul Worley - Rural Health Commissioner
